Empty Bowls Project

There will bo NO Empty Bowls Event for the 2020 year. The Baltimore-Thurston Ministerial will address a possible 2021 Empty Bowls Event in October 2020 for the 2021 year. Thank you for your interest in Empty Bowls Project!

The Empty Bowls Project is an international movement that began in the early 1990's and has raised money to help hungry people. It was founded by several school teachers in Michigan whose students wanted to raise money to help the local people who were hungry. They decided to have a fundraiser dinner of soup and bread. The image of the empty bowl reminds us of the many people whose bowls are empty because they don't have food.

In 2012 the Baltimore and Thurston churches held their first Empty Bowls Project.  This year the event will again support the Baltimore Food Pantry, Liberty Township Community Chest and other needs in the community that benefit children, seniors and everyone in between.

Delicious homemade soups and cookies; crackers and beverages will be available. Churches, businesses and individuals will donate auction items for the silent auction and the live auction put on by Leith Auctions. There will be a Children's Activity Area where children 10 & under can purchase tickets for prizes. There is no charge to attend. All we ask for is a donation at the door. This is a fundraiser, via the auction and/or a monetary can be placed in your churches Sunday collection plate. Note "Empty Bowls" on your check or envelope if making a monetary donation please.
